The Australian Catholic University (ACU) and Sogetsuryu School of Ikebana NSW branch held an ikebana (Japanese art of flower arrangement) exhibition at the university art gallery from April 7 to 12 to celebrate Sogetsuryu's 80th anniversary. An opening reception held on April 8 was attended by members of the Sogetsuryu school, university community and guests, who gathered to appreciate some 30 beautiful ikebana created by the Sogetsuryu NSW branch.

Event: 'Facetnate!' Opening Event
Venue: Japan Foundation Gallery

The opening party for 'Facetnate!', The Japan Foundation's new artist discovery event, was held in the Japan Foundation Gallery. The six artists who will exhibit individually for a month each and compete for the best artist prize in August, were introduced at the event.

Finalists: Kevin Vo and Haline Ly (Symple Creative), William 'BIL' Anderson, Ainslie Murray, Peter Humble, Benedict Ernst, Leanne Shedlezki and Naomi Shedlezki (Match Box Project) Lucy Barker and Kate O'Connor
