Marketing Australia's many wonders
World Heritage tours are popular among Japanese jet-setters
and Tourism Australia hopes to target this group with a new
campaign. Australia has 17 World Heritage-listed sites of which
all but one is accessible to the public. Apart from the renowned
Sydney Opera House, the sites include the natural wonders of
Kakadu National Park, Uluru and Great Barrier Reef as well
as the lesser-known Purnululu National Park in Western Australia,
the Tasmanian Wilderness conservation area and the Willandra
Lakes Region in NSW. The campaign was launched in September
and will include an Australia World Heritage Week to be held
in Ginza, Tokyo from November 12-18.
